Along with our small but increasing alpaca herd we also run a small flock of Wiltshire Horn sheep between our property and the land owned by our parents.
These are a hardy long legged meat breed that require no shearing, crutching or mulesing as they shed their fleece every spring. They can be farmed with minimal husbandry - in an almost 'organic' style.
It is widely believed that the Romans were responsible for taking the original flock to England where they became established in the region that bears their name.
